Cash flow statement

A report of the cash that came in and went out over a period, split into operating, investing and financing activities.

An income statement shows whether a company made a profit; a cash flow statement shows whether it generated cash. The two can tell different stories. Source 1

Operating activities are the business itself. Investing activities include buying equipment or other businesses. Financing activities include borrowing, repaying debt, issuing shares and paying dividends. Source 1
